Back in June we told you about Friendly's Grilled Cheese Burger Melt, calling it "the greatest achievement mankind has ever made." Well, apparently, we spoke too soon, because this week the internets are all abuzz about a new taboo-smashing sandwich innovation: the Fried Cheese Melt Sandwich from Denny's. I, for one, never thought Denny's would beat their genre-bending classic, the Grand Slamwich ("Two scrambled eggs, sausage, crispy bacon, shaved ham, mayonnaise and American cheese on potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread."), but I have been proven wrong. Who doesn't love fried mozzarella sticks? Who has a beef with sandwiches? Who wouldn't want to dip a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with fried mozzarella sticks into a bowl of tangy marinara and cram into his or her mouth-hole? GEP salutes you, Denny's.
