Chuck Daly (1930-2009)
Growing up in Michigan, I was a huge Pistons fan. Just think about who was on the team back then: Isaiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Dennis Rodman, Vinnie Johnson, Bill Laimbeer. Awesome! Chuck Daly led the Pistons to repeat championship wins (though he failed to fulfill the challenge put forth in the hit song "Three-Peat Beat") with skill and class unmatched by anyone else in the NBA. He also led the Dream Team to Olympic gold in 1992.
He will be missed.
