Sunday Bloody Sunday: Beetle Bailey's Brother Revealed

We all know that Lois Flagston, of Hi and Lois fame, is Beetle Bailey's sister, but did you know that the perpetual private also has a brother? Longtime fans of the mediocre strip may have been aware of this buck-toothed moppet's existence, but I wasn't, until I opened up my Sunday funny pages at the breakfast table this morning (We had homemade banana and Nutella crepes topped with warm strawberries. Thanks for asking) and saw this:

Chigger? Beetle Bailey's brother's name is Chigger? Are Mr. and Mrs. Bailey so psychotically obsessed with creepy crawlies that they felt unnaturally compelled to name both of their sons after insects? How did Lois escape this terrible fate?

How do you name your kid after something that gross looking that can so something that gross looking? What kind of sick son of a bitch names his kid Chigger? Ugh.
